Kolesnikov frequently directly references the artworks of the old masters, fusing them with recognizable images of the modern pop culture. The hand entwined by snakes is an abstract image influenced by the Renaissance symbolism. Stuck in a tight twisted knot, a limb is depicted apart from the human body. This is a both fragmental and integral image of the bodies and control merged: the hand holds the snakes' heads, but their bodies squeeze the arm, leaving no chance to free itself.
