Using his usual dark hues, Dmitry Prokopovich infuses them with daylight. The artist lets only tiny spots of light in, letting the details stay in the dark. The impression is enhanced by the isolated features that only partially emerge into the light, producing tension. The artist captures a complex emotion. The painting is filled with human determination, an urge teetering on the edge of frenzy. The gesture is overwhelming, for a moment it becomes more important than a person. It absorbs everything else.
