This work from Sava Hoch's photo series Tendencies is dedicated to the movement of the color red. Red is a color of fundamental importance in global culture. It is one of the most complex, ancient, versatile, emotional, and challenging colors. The color red in art expresses a wide range of quite opposite emotions and feelings. Sexual pleasure and infernal torment, joy and grief, passion and drama, flourish and decay, righteousness and sin. Red has never been unpopular with people. And, while other colors and shades became popular throughout history, it is impossible to imagine art without red.
