In her signature style, Lyudmila Baronina creates a story that resembles a children’s book illustration. The dead bird produces a mysterious mechanism. The mice are busily tuning up an instrument that resembles an organ put together from a dead pigeon and gun cases. The nature around is marked by the inanimate: grenades with dragonfly wings are flapping around, a rifle clip is crawling like a centipede, the Acanthus leaves are made of alabaster. A beautiful and tragic scene is a meeting point for the nature and man-made weapons of destruction. However, the man is not there, and in his absence the objects build unexpected connections. The pleasure of discovering all of them is left to the viewer.
