Motion #22 Hitchcock, North by Northwest, 2023

The artist dedicated this painting to Alfred Hitchcock's 1959 film North by Northwest, a world cinema masterpiece. The plot revolves around an advertising executive who is mistaken for a secret agent, all with Hitchcock's trademark suspense. The film got excellent reviews from critics and is recognized as one of the best movies in history. Edward Churkin painted the interior of the antagonist Phillip Vandamm's home, as well as the figure of Leonard, his right-hand man. The artist depicts the entire interior impeccably, almost like a photograph. However, the brightest detail is how Motion #22 captures Leonard's tension as he nervously stares out of the window.
