In one interview, Igor Mikhailenko shared an idea that is critical to understanding his work: "It is like a ritual to me, close to shamanism... Time is everything, as abstract art must be painted fast." In this painting that belongs to In Room series, the artist is rushing to articulate a thought. The spots of color are arranged in a fanciful composition, reminiscent of someone rushing to get ready for work in the morning. The outside lines struggle to contain this fluid motion.
