An artist with the classical education, Igor Mikhailenko has been recently experimenting with abstraction. He compares non-figurative painting with photography, as nowadays it is available to everyone both for creation and for perception — at least on intuitive, sensory level. The artist compares his own painting with music, advising to “listen” to it and to pay attention to the emotions that arise. In Room artwork is a visual labyrinth built on layers and the collision of clear geometric shapes and textured colorful spots. The space that strives to take an architectural form but constantly fails.
