Life today is filled with solitudeand isolation. Despite the fact that most people now live in cities, they often feel lonely. The fast pace of life, perpetual strain, and the endless information drain the human spirit. Consumer culture forces people to compete with each other, to stomp out competitors. All of this renders genuine, trusting connections extremely difficult, if not impossible. People are trapped inside concrete and glass homes, alone with emotions. This is what artist Igor Mikhailenko depicts in his In Room series of abstract paintings.
