His Majesty the Middle Class, 2020

A burlesque juggling archetypes, depersonalization of the artist's touch, mixture of methods and languages — the middle class army in Alexander Savko's painting effectively dishallows and disenchants the Soviet ideology in the best traditions of socialist art. Even the palette is reminiscent of the dull oil colors that were used to paint fences in Communist times.
