Among sand mounds of the vast Mojave Desert of California, hundreds of aircraft stand in rows. There is nothing alive nearby, no one is seen or heard, and the airplanes have no engines. This is an aircraft boneyard. One experiences the inertia of the real here, its subdued presence beyond understanding. In Drawing 12.05.20, the artist highlights this phenomenon. The image of the bottle stopper detached from its intended use is challenging us to look past meaning and engage in an authentic passive experience.
