Dmitry Prokopovich has been living and working in Krasnodar since 2012. Having moved to Krasnodar, he started an active artistic assimilation by painting city skylines. His paintings are characterized by dense texture and relief and measured classical compositions fostered in him by classical education. The colors convey the main feeling of his art; his meticulous handwriting borders calligraphy. This work should be viewed from a distance; the canvas is divided symmetrically into two horizontal fields. The tram is positioned the way that the color emphasis, a red line, causes visual distortion. The upper part echoes the title of the work: it is crushing the viewer with its dominant brown palette. Semantic irony of the city traffic is supported by all elements of the painting.
